Grant from 'Awards For All'

Former chairman of both the Gipping Valley Angling Club and the Suffolk Disabled Anglers Forum Ian Wood, has recently secured a grant of £3698.00 from Awards For All, for which we are all very grateful.

This money is to be used to stabilise the bank side around “ Woody’s Lake” from further erosion. As regular users of Middle Farm Lakes, and in particular Woody's Lake, you will all have noticed the worsening erosion this season, which is of course, a health and safety risk to all users of this very popular fishery.

We have just purchased the main materials for this project and would like to thank Chris Ansell at Land and Water Services for supplying the Nicospan at a very good price, also special thanks to Dave and Jason Clarke of Clarke Fencing Ltd in Stowmarket, who were also very supportive of this project and provided the wooden stakes we required at a very competitive price.

Volunteers from within the Gipping Valley Angling Club plan to complete this project sometime in the New Year, which hopefully will mean that the improved bank will be ready for us in May 2015.
